Sample Itinerary (Subject to change)

Day 1: Arrive and orientation in downtown Colonial Panama. (Night photography)

Day 2:  Journey through Panamanian forests to El Valle de Anton.  Check in to the Canopy Hotel with

mountain views, exotic birds and abundant nature scenes to captivate any photographer.  With an introductory bird and

nature tour we then plan to visit the hot springs complete with mud bath and the papaya farm.

Day 3:  The warmth of dark tones and rich colors will be captured as we visit the cigar factory at La

Pintada.  Local markets with traditional craft scenes, hat making and the ancient petroglyphs in El Valle will round off

our day of exploration.

Day 4:  With sustainable environments on our mind we will take to the water with an ‘eco’ guided tour

capturing close up and landscapes with a visit to El Nispero Zoo and Botanical Gardens to photograph the

endangered Panamanian Golden Frogs.

Day 5:  We take to the air and spend a day travelling to the colonial northern city of David.  An opportunity

to take stock and consider HDR (High Dynamic Range) images and the challenges of nocturnal photography.  We will

stay at the Boquete Garden Inn and visit an indigenous tribe and the Coffee Plantation.

Day 6:  Photographing wildlife represents many challenges.  We will consider composition, lighting and the

challenge of capturing animal/bird behavior in striking images.

Day 7:  Back in Panama City to photograph the exquisite architecture and the faces of the city.  With an

opportunity to view the famous Panama Canal and take an authentic train ride to the city of Colon on the northern

coast.  We will feel the cool breeze of the Atlantic and with thoughts of tall sailing ships and privateers we will

photograph the sea fort of Lorenzo.

Day 8: A day of two extremes, a jungle tour and then a chance to capture contemporary Panama - cafes and

restaurants, street scenes and nightlife.
